New Effect - Naive painting - Samples

Postby One-more-try » Sun Aug 21, 2022 6:04 pm

The samples shown below were batch processed using my new effect called 'Naive painting' by One-more-try. I did not try to sort horizon lines or correct perspective as I wanted the resultant images to look less like a photograph and more like a naive painting. The image is basically a digital watercolour with a ghost effect and ghost ink outlines. It is not meant to produce perfect watercolours - the images are meant to look quite quirky and cause the viewer to look closer to find little areas of fascinating details. The images are meant to be, in general, bold and colourful and quite punchy to the eye. Be aware the such effects don't work with every original image, but if you batch process your images, you can then choose the ones that have worked and you like. If you want to get the very best from the effect, then I would advise processing each image individually and tweaking each one to your requirements. You can also edit the effect itself for further control. This effect has been made from previous effects that I made and has not been refined to clear out any unnecessary effect nodes or elements (I don't have the energy for that). These samples are just to show you what is possible without much effort. Cheers. Original images take Autumn 2021 in the East Neuk of Fife's fishing villages, Scotland.

These are gorgeous! I looked for this brilliant effect but it seems not to be available yet. I am eager to try it out on some of my images!

Hi Eve, just old me again under my latest guise 'One-more-try'.

Thanks for you lovely comments over the last few postings - lots of things have happened to me over the last few years health wise and I've had to make significant changes. Photography and photo-art took a back seat for quite a while as I focussed on acoustic music - fingerstyle guitar, Ragtime, Country Blues, Traditional Irish & Scottish airs, jigs and dance music, folk& contemporary music with lots of open tunings - also fingerstyle ukulele, mandolin and other stringed instruments. Just as I started reaching the pinnacle of my 50 odd years of experience I noted major changes in my left hand fingers - within about three months of this I had to give up playing entirely - I had to sell off about 12 acoustic guitars (most with special tunings), about 5 ukuleles an other instruments. I no longer have any instruments and can no longer play at all. So to fill the void I started to focus back on photography and spent the money from the instruments on two Pentax DSLRS and lenses. Recently I started collecting vintage Manual Pentax lenses and have quite a collection. I can only do photo-shoots when someone can take me to photo opportunity locations as I find it difficult to travel any distance on public transport (I no longer drive). My energy levels for many years now has been limited and after, say an hour, I get very tired. My daughter Abigail took me to Kinghorn on the 4 August as a Father's Day treat on a photo-shoot - the photography only lasted an hour, but it was the first time for ages getting out with the camera - it was lovely. On Monday there I was at the Edinburgh Royal Hospital for 'Nerve Conduction Studies' where it was confirmed that I have increasingly severe Peripheral Neuropathy in my hands, fingers, feet and toes - just awaiting my Consultant's Report.

So, here I am back for while at least with the hope of posting new images and creating some new effects.

It has been quite a year within our family - lots going on - my wife reached 70 earlier in the year, we have just celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary (Golden) and I will be 75 in the next few months. Still enjoying life and, as always, trying to be creative

Nice to hear from you - take care & kind regards,

Andrew

PS: I've created a few effects including this one and these should become live soon, I would imagine!
