Mirroring the same image

Postby MEWSETTE » Sun Jun 08, 2014 7:01 pm

Hello,

I have a photo of a flower, that is on the right side of the frame. I would like to mirror it on the left side of the frame, but in muted colors.
How would I do that, please?

Hi Mewsette,

Here's how to do that:

1. Load in the picture of the flower and hover over the tool that says Rotate 90, you should see a pop up which gives you the option of mirroring it horizontally.
2. Either use Image treatment and reduce the saturation or use the gallery to browse effects that mute the colors.
3. Save the result with a different file name.
5. Now you can delete the mirror effect by hovering over where it says Rotate Image in the top right of the screen and clicking on the x to delete (or alternatively just loading the picture in again).
6. Click on the composite tool on the right
7. Add a new overlay and choose your mirrored version.
8. Use the mouse to erase all the way round the edge of your flower
9. Use the fill cans that pop up to erase large blocks that are remaining

There are a few videos here that show you how to do the composite.

Alternatively, there might be some effects out there that do all this for you in one step, but I don't know of one offhand!

Tony
