Hi Paul,
Open a support ticket and they can add another activation to your account. You will have to use the license manager to download the latest version of the software. Some effects do take a long time to process, especially ones that include a denoising step. Try saving a few different effects, or just adding text, on your laptop.

Thanks Tony - I think I finally sorted it out this morning - I uninstalled everything, and then added my backup copy from my memory stick and all seems to be working again.
