Are there any copyright issues with selling photos that have used these effects?

Hi Cyberspirit,

No, there aren't any issues. In our Eula, users agree to relinquish copyright of any effects they submit and images used by those effects.

But, I see they use images to make effects, such borders and backgrounds and so on. Are these images created also by themselves or got from Internet and added in the effect and relinquish the copyright? How does it work when they inser image in the effect?

The images users submit must have no license restrictions in order for them to submit it. When users are not using their own pictures they must get them from sites where the pictures are free for any use.

This ADMINS advice is wrong, here is my response after asking the same question this week June 2014, they are all contradicting themselves, u have to credit the original author of the effects, imagine if u used 10 combinations or more, what a mess, anyway here is the response:

Any effects that you create using our software can be used for commercial purposes, if you have used an effect created by another software user then you will need to credit them.

Sorry for the confusion, our support system had the wrong information in it, so Emma's response was incorrect. You do not need to credit the author of the effect when using their effect. We are updating our support response and creating a new FAQ entry to explain this. Sorry for the contradiction.

Warm wishes,

Tony

IMHO who creates effects should never be allowed to use images from other sites, even that in that site informs that uses are for free for commercial/personal uses. There is a bunch of sites that distributes images with this status and the images are copyrighted. I and a bunch of other photographers have their images stolen from websites, stock sites and these images are put online for free distribution. So, IMHO the images and any stuff used in the effect creation should be all copyrighted from its creator and the creator gives up when uploading the effect to the community.

Well, just my opinion on the subject.
