Hi all,

The recent release of SPE has improved support for HDPI screens. However, it seems that there are some issues with calculating the appropriate scale factor to use.

I will be investigating this problem this week and will update you with progress. Hopefully we will be able to get a new version out soon with fixes in place.

Many thanks and my sincere apologies for the inconvenience,

])arren.

Hi there,

I am one of the developers working on Smart Photo Editor. I'm sorry to hear of the problems you are experiencing.

At this stage, can you do the following so I have a little more information:
  • Since you're on Windows 10, can you go to the start menu, select Settings click on the 'System' icon. Where it says 'Change the size of text, apps, and other items', what do you have this set to? 100%/125%/150%/175%?
  • If you don't already have it, can you download the trial of PortraitPro (http://www.portraitprofessional.com/download/) and see if that formats sensibly on your screen?

Many thanks,

])arren.

Hi Jacky,

Thanks for getting back to me about the scaling percentage. Did you try PortraitPro? Does it layout OK? (The trial is free).

Thanks,

])arren.

Hi there,

In case you are still having problems, please try the following releases (depending on which license you have). It respects the Windows scaling factor for your screen so it should look the same in terms of text size, button size, etc as other applications. Here are the links:

Please let me know if this works for you.

Many thanks,

Thank you.

Seems to work a lot better on my laptop than the original upgrade.

Let me just take this opportunity to say thanks for all the work you put into developing and improving SPE.

I have been using it for about 3 years now. I use other photo editing tools like DxO, Photodirector, Picasa, and very occasionally Elements BUT SPE is the one I use DAILY and far more
than any of the others. I try others now and again but SPE is simple and powerful - I love it!

I only use others for things that SPE can't do like cloning, and content aware, etc.

THANKS EVER SO MUCH for a marvellous product.
